Aquamarine on Feldspar, Gilgit, Pakistan

Some of the world's best aquamarine, a variety of beryl, are found in the mountains of Pakistan. Many specimens, like the one we have here, are a perfect shade of sea foam green with good transparency and sharp crystal faces. Our specimen has a nice termination and is rooted in feldspar matrix, mounted on an acrylic base (note the older wax attachment to the base has yellowed but can be easily removed if wanted).
