Have you ever gone camping and cooked marshmallows over a campfire? If so, it does not take much imagination to see the microcline "marshmallows" skewered by lustrous aegirine crystals here. This unique piece is a statement of form, with the aegirines forming a victory "V" with the microclines clustered near its base. Stunning. A few aegirines have evidence of rehealing after natural breaking, which is somewhat common of minerals from pegmatite environments. The microclines have a curious stout, but complete form, with nice luster of their own. Mount Malosa is an odd REE (rare earth element) alkaline pegmatite, which is well-known for its outstanding aegirine and arfvedsonite specimens. From Mount Malosa, Zomba, Southern Region, Malawi. Dimensions: 5 x 6 cm (the longest aegirine is 5.5 cm) ON HOLD
