Lazurite, Sar-e-Sang, Badakhshan, Afghanistan

Terrific blue lazurite in contrasting white marble matrix. The lazurite crystal is sharp. From the famous, incredibly rugged locality in Afghanistan that also supplied ancient Egyptians with lapis lazuli (see Mineralogical Record May-June 2014, Vol 45, No 3).
